“The earlier road users gain an understanding of the responsibilities and risks of road use, the less likely they are to be involved in a crash.”
Our Pre-Licence Course gives students aged between 16 and 17 years of age the opportunity to gain a valuable head start in learning car control and road skills prior to driving on the public highway for the first time.
The courses are held at Devon Drivers Centre where we have full use of a realistic practice road circuit including traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, junctions, roundabouts and parked vehicles
The course may comprise of a full day, you will be collected from a convenient location by your instructor, who will drive you to the driving centre and bring you back at the end of the day to the same location.
The course is based on two students sharing the course, either family or friends (often the most fun way of learning) or with students supplied by the drivng school.
You do not need a driving licence to take part in the course, but we do ask that you are 16 years of age or older at the time of the course.
You will be issued with a progress report card, showing what you have achieved in preparation for going on the road, you should at the end of the course feel confident to drive on the road with supervision when you are legally able to do so.
It will give you an opportunity to meet your driving instructor and give you an insight into what to expect when learning to drive with the Focus on Driving School of Motoring.
There is no obligation to learn to drive with ourselves, ,however we do want you to enjoy your day’s driving experiance and help you gain the confidence needed to be a safe and competant driver.
You may need to bring a packed lunch and drink sufficient for the whole day. Courses run Monday To Saturday, January to December except for May when the facility is closed to accomadate the county show.
